Werner Steinmüller has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank Italy Spa since June 2020. Previously, he was the CEO of the APAC region from August 2016 and, in this role, a member of the Management Board of Deutsche Bank, based in Hong Kong. From 2004 to 2016, he led the Global Transaction Banking Division. Focused on payments, trade finance, securities settlement and short-term lending business for corporate clients. From 2009 to 2020, he was also a member of the Group Executive Committee. Previously, he was the COO in the Global Transaction Bank, Head of Global Banking Division Europe and Co-head of Corporate Finance Germany. Between 1979 to 1991, Steinmüller held various positions at Citibank in Frankfurt, with his final assignment being Co-Head of Corporate Finance Germany. He studied at the Technical University of Darmstadt, graduating with a degree in industrial engineering. For many years, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Postbank, including three years as Chairman.
