Francesco is a Technical Specialist and Agroecology specialist with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Before joining IFAD as an officer, he has been a consultant for IFAD (agroecology, resilience, and land tenure) and FAO (agroecology and sustainable food systems). From 2017 to 2021, he was a Policy Advisor for IPES-Food (the International Panel of Experts on Sustainable Food Systems), and he has been responsible for translating research into policy. From 2017 to 2019, he was the Belgian Green Party Food & Agriculture Policy Advisor, contributing to the party's participation in the Government. From 2015 to 2017, he worked for the European Green Party as a project manager. He holds an MA in Political Science (European Studies) from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and an MA in Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture from the Universidad de Pinar del Río, Cuba.
